![]() Corby Trades Council once played a key role in the area's industrial relations and it would be good to connect with trade unionists to support their campaigns again. In recent weeks Corby CLP have been in touch with Lee Barron, TUC's Regional Secretary, and agreed to hold a re-launch meeting of the Corby Trades Council, the details are below: GMB Northants Community Branch and Corby Town Council held an event to mark Workers Memorial Day 2022 in Corby on Saturday 30th April 2022.
The event was a great success and commemorated International Workers Memorial Day, below are some photos from the event. Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. Most don't die of mystery ailments, or in tragic "accidents". They die because an employer decided their safety just wasn't that important a priority. International Workers’ Memorial Day (IWMD) 28 April commemorates those workers. ![]() On Saturday the 30th April 2022 at 11am, we will hold a Workers Memorial Day Event in Corby at the STEELWORKER STATUE James Ashworth VC Square, Outside The Cube CORBY, Northants, more information below: On the 25th March, 2022, Rachelle Wilkins (Full-time GMB Officer) and myself visited two of the foodbanks: Corby Food Bank and KCU Kettering Foodbank, that the branch support, with further donations totalling £760
GMB Northants is proud to be supporting Corby Town Councils 2022 Holocaust Memorial Event in Corby Northants on Thursday the 27th January 2022 at 6pm at The Lab at Corby Cube, George Street, Corby, NN17 1QG
The event will include a number of keynote speakers, including GMB Northants Branch Secretary Alan Irwin and a live stream from the Holocaust Memorial Trust. The event is free to attend and tickets are limited due to COVID regulations. You can book your place on Eventbrite's website here ![]() Volunteers from the Corby Town Councillors will be collecting donations for Afghan refugees and Corby Foodbank on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September from 11 am to 2 pm. All items donated will be distributed to local refugee charities and to Corby Trussell Foodbank.
Items can be dropped off at DDW Catering, 61 Occupation Road, Corby between the hours listed above (please do not drop off donations outside of the advertised hours). Wednesday the 28th April 2021 is International Workers Memorial Day, on this day, all around the world unions unite to mark the day and remember those who have lost their lives at work
